Created in 2005, CineYouth Film Festival is Chicago International Film Festival’s annual three-day showcase of short films made by filmmakers who are 22-years-old and younger, from around the world. CineYouth strives to encourage the talent of young filmmakers and to provide them with opportunities to tell their stories, network with their peers and offer a platform that supports diverse youth voices. CineYouth offers hands-on workshops for filmmaking and performing, filmmaker Q&A’s, a Film Pitch, scholarships and more!

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Filmmakers must be 22-years-old or younger at the time of the film's completion (can currently be 23 if the film was finished while aged 22)

Films must be 15 minutes or less

All entries must be submitted through FilmFreeway

The festival accepts the following genres: drama, comedy, animation, horror/thriller, music video and experimental

Regular/Final deadline: February 25, 2019
